Jeff Weiner, Chief Executive Officer
Jeff Weiner is the CEO of LinkedIn, the world’s largest and most powerful network of professionals. Under his leadership, LinkedIn has rapidly expanded its global platform to seventeen languages and more than 20 offices around the world, grown its membership base from 33 million to 161 million members, and increased its revenue more than sixfold to $522 million in 2011. Before joining LinkedIn in 2008, Jeff was an executive in residence at Accel Partners and Greylock Partners, where he advised the firm’s consumer technology portfolio companies and evaluated new investment opportunities. Previously, Jeff served as executive vice president of Yahoo!'s Network Division, a business that generated $3 billion in annual revenue with more than 3,000 employees and responsibility for many of the company’s consumer-facing and industry-leading products. Prior to joining Yahoo! in 2001, Jeff spent more than six years at Warner Bros., where he helped oversee the company’s online efforts and developed the initial business plan for Warner Bros. Online in 1994. In addition to LinkedIn, Jeff serves on the board of directors for Intuit Inc., DonorsChoose.org and Malaria No More. He holds a B.S. degree in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Nick Besbeas, Vice President of Marketing
Nick Besbeas joined LinkedIn in January 2011 to lead the company’s global marketing strategy. He came to LinkedIn from Yahoo!, where he was Senior Vice President of Consumer Marketing and Insights. During his five years at Yahoo!, Nick also led business-to-business marketing, direct marketing and customer support. In early 2000, he co-founded the marketing and business analytics firm digiMine, now Audience Science, a leader in behavioral and audience targeting. Prior to that, he was head of the Direct Marketing and Business Intelligence group at Microsoft, MSN, where he pioneered standards for direct marketing and customer intelligence on the web. Nick has also held roles at Quill Corporation and The Signature Group. He holds a BA from the University of Illinois and an MA in Economics from DePaul University.
Steve Cadigan, Vice President, Talent
Steve Cadigan joined LinkedIn in August 2009 to lead the organization’s employee growth around the world. He has more than 20 years of HR management experience in the US, Canada and the Asia-Pacific region and has worked on acquisition integrations around the globe. Prior to his current role, Steve served as Vice President of HR at Electronic Arts where he was responsible for the Games Label group, with 2,500 employees and $2 billion revenue, as well as M&A integrations. Steve helped build Cisco’s world-class acquisition integration team and previously held key HR leadership roles at PMC-Sierra, AMD, Fireman's Fund and Esprit. Steve has a BA in History from Wesleyan University and an MA in Organizational Development and HR Management from University of San Francisco.
Mike Gamson, Senior Vice President, Global Solutions
Mike Gamson joined the company in August 2007 and currently heads up LinkedIn’s global recruitment and marketing solutions teams. Previously, Mike was Director of Product Marketing at Advent Software, a provider of enterprise software for investment managers, where he led the Trading and Order Management business. Mike began his career as an entrepreneur in Costa Rica, founding a restaurant and boutique hotel in 1996. He sold the business to American investors and joined Bank of America as a financial analyst in Chicago the following year. Mike holds a BA from Amherst College.
David Henke, Senior Vice President, Operations
David Henke joined LinkedIn in November 2009 and is responsible for Production Operations, IT, Data Systems, and Security. Prior to his current role, David was Senior Vice President of Engineering at Yahoo! for four years, responsible for Engineering/Operations for the Yahoo! Search Marketing organization and the Production Operations infrastructure for the entire company. Previously, David ran Engineering/Operations for AltaVista and held development and management roles at Silicon Graphics. David also founded two software companies, CAE Systems and TeamOne Systems, both of which were acquired. He holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Deep Nishar, Senior Vice President, Products and User Experience
Deep Nishar has more than 20 years experience helping Internet and software companies build and grow their businesses. He joined LinkedIn in January 2009 and is responsible for setting and executing the company’s global product strategy. Deep came to LinkedIn from Google, where he headed product strategy for Asia-Pacific, led the company’s mobile initiatives, and built the systems used for managing Google's global customer base. Previously, Deep was Founder and Vice President of Products at software company Patkai Networks. In 2010, he co-founded AngelPad, a mentorship program for entrepreneurs. Deep holds an MBA with highest honors (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School, a MSEE from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a B. Tech with honors from the Indian Institute of Technology. He has co-authored seven patents and received the Google Founders Award, given to employees who made extraordinary contributions to the company.
Erika Rottenberg, Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Erika Rottenberg is responsible for worldwide legal affairs at LinkedIn, including corporate, commercial, IP, litigation, compliance and privacy matters. Before joining LinkedIn in July 2008, Erika served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, for SumTotal Systems, a talent development enterprise software company. Prior to that, she was Vice President, Strategic Development and General Counsel, at Creative Labs, the company that brought multimedia to the PC. She helped both companies navigate the regulatory policies and challenges specific to technology-centric public companies. Erika started her legal career at the Silicon Valley-based law firm of Cooley Godward. She received her JD from University of California Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law, and her BS in Special and Elementary Education from State University of New York at Geneseo. Erika also serves on the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Law Foundation.
Kevin Scott, Senior Vice President, Engineering
Kevin Scott is responsible for software engineering at LinkedIn. Kevin's 20-year career in technology spans both academia and industry as researcher, engineer, and leader. Prior to joining LinkedIn in February of 2011, Kevin oversaw mobile ads engineering at Google, including the integration of Google's $750 million acquisition of AdMob. Prior to its acquisition by Google, Kevin was responsible for engineering and operations at AdMob, the world's leading platform for mobile monetization. Before joining AdMob in 2007, Kevin held numerous leadership positions at Google in search and ads engineering, and was deeply involved with the company's early efforts establishing remote engineering centers, leadership development programs, and faculty outreach to top CS and engineering departments. Kevin is the recipient of a Google Founder's Award, an Intel Ph.D. Fellowship, and an ACM Recognition of Service award. Kevin was a founding member of the ACM Professions Board and sits on the technical advisory boards for a number of startups. Kevin is the co-inventor on a number of pending and issued patents, and is the author or co-author of several peer reviewed scholarly publications. Kevin holds an MS in Computer Science from Wake Forest University and a BS in Computer Science from Lynchburg College.
Steve Sordello, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Steve Sordello oversees financial operations at LinkedIn. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer of two Nasdaq publicly-traded companies. In July 2007, Steve joined LinkedIn from TiVo, where he was part of the management team that delivered TiVo’s first-ever quarter of profitability. Prior to that, he was CFO for Ask Jeeves and helped lead the company through a transition from unprofitable back to a profitable, high-margin company. During his tenure there, revenues and earnings grew significantly, and the company’s market value increased from less than $40 million to more than $2 billion when it was acquired by IAC/Interactive Corporation in 2005. Steve has also held senior finance roles at Adobe Systems and Syntex Corporation (acquired by Roche). He holds an MBA and BA from Santa Clara University.
